Anyway, as an update, I ended up installing the binary
all-distributions installer which fixed some of the dependencies, but
not all. It was still missing some things, so I used "yum search"
(I'm new to yum and trying to do everything for FC via RPMs etc. so
that it doesn't get all messed up), and it did indeed reveal some
-devel versions which I installed that fixed the pkgconfig stuff.<br>

So, thanks for the pointer in the right direction. F-spot now (kind of) working... Next stop monodevelop and Beagle!<br>
