Hello Richard,

 We will soon be changing the software that streams our films on your PC or
Mac to a system called Silverlight. This will not impact streaming films on
your TV, Blu-ray player, iPad® or games console but if you want to watch
movies on your computer, you'll need to install Silverlight.

 *Why are we switching to Silverlight?*

We've been asked to make this change by the studios - it's one of the
conditions for supplying their films to us, because the Silverlight
software is very secure and reliable.

The switch will also improve the LOVEFiLM streaming experience because we
will be able to tailor the quality of the video stream to your internet
connection. This will reduce buffering for customers with a low broadband
speed whilst also enabling us to increase the streaming quality for
customers lucky enough to have high broadband speed.
