[Bradford] Diaspora* the social medium

Has anyone tried out the Diaspora* system, other than me. I have 
relatively few touch points in social media, so have been browsing round it 
doing the silly things I do when I am not sure of how to behave. 
 If I understand correctly, I have an account with the main UK server and 
have a basic notion of the markup it uses and have been spending the 
afternoon typing flippant tosh in public.
