Long story. The handset costs £500 new from Nokia or you can get it on a £35 a month contract from Vodafone. I actually have this one on extended loan from Nokia. They sent it to me for review before Christmas. They sent them to a loads of Linux bloggers and developers in a marketing campaign. They want it back though at some point sadly. In the meantime I'm having great fun.

You can find more about it here - http://maemo.nokia.com/

Cheers,

Dan

On Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 6:51 PM, Michael Crilly <mrcrilly@googlemail.com> wrote:
Nokia have put Maemo on their Internet tablets for a while but this is the first phone. You get root access and you can even install stuff with apt-get if you want. I've added a few custom repos. It's pretty cool. Completely unlocked, even the ones on contract from Vodafone are unlocked. It'll run any Python GTK or Qt apps. I installed Vim and QEmacs in the pub to let the guys play with them.
