great as it is to get out when we will be able, a half hour
drive each way can be a bit off putting.

And whilst I'm here, a couple of questions I would ask are -

Is there a way of mimicking cp -p when using the mouse to copy
things between windows without having to go to a terminal, i.e.
preserve timestamps etc?

Although I can zoom etc using my laptop, a camera/mike to use
with my desktop would be very useful. Has anyone any
suggestions for a fairly decent Linux friendly one?

And what about a decent cheap VPN?

Many thanks for all/any suggestions.

John Alexander will be giving a talk on the
evening of 10th Feb entitled:

Making it work - how to break incompatibility and
dependency hell for
your hardware without mashing your desktop.

This will be an overview of Linux features you can
use to get awkward,
custom or unusual hardware working without
destroying your system or
descending into madness.

John is a regular with the Wolves, Shropshire,
Birmingham and NoVa LUGs
satellites, hardware hacking
and *attending all the LUGs*.
