I just got the email at 19:20. I think I will watch Dr Who too. Maybe next time. Anyway thanks for the advice on lifting files from a damaged Linux disk. I used the suggestion with Mepis Live CD and installed Logical Volume manager using some instructions of the net, then used the instructions on copying the home partition. Worked great.
