Hi all,

Having had various problems with sending/receiving emails from various
accounts (due to one SysAdmins informed policy of choosing windows-only
security) I was never able to post to the list. Hopefully now that I've moved
over to my own hosted IMAP email system (provided by http://1and1.co.uk) I
should be a bit luckier.

I was using version 3.4 of KDE as shipped with SuSE 10, and historically using
pop3 accounts with kontact. That version wasn't happy talking to the new IMAP
server, so I took the plunge and manually upgraded to KDE version 3.5 via
binary rpms provided on SuSE website. All went swimmingly, so here I am.

I still haven't managed to make it to a meeting 'coz I work in Lytham and live
in Windermere - travelling to Carlisle on a Friday evening has always
dissuaded me.

I use SuSE 10.0 on a Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop and it runs very nicely. One of the
best features is the ability to do intelligent backups - SuSE works out what
it could install from the installation DVD and only backs up additional
stuff. The result is that a full backup on my laptop is only 3-ish GB instead
of 33-ish.

I would like the take the plunge and install the funky new OpenGL window
manager that was mentioned on the list a few weeks ago - anyone know if there
are binaries for SuSE 10 available yet?

Regards,

Mark.
