I have NEVER been able to burn an ISO successfully and I suspect that this may be due to the CDs that I have in stock. All the Ubuntu downloads that I make seem to be larger than commonly available blank CDs. According to Wikipeadia the specification for CDs may be larger capacity. Using DVDs didn't work.
I use magazine disks for installation and re-installation and not a burned ISO.
Hi all,

Im new to the group, have been using Fedora for a while but largely as a
menial desktop user.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how you can verify the contents
of postal media (not downloaded ISOs) using the published checksums?

Ive tried creating an ISO from the postal media and verifying it but
this fails. This is either not the way to do it or ive got a bum disk :(

Any ideas please
