I got it working O.K. in Ubuntu but it was not so straightforward for
installing like in Fedora, so I will give a quick howto for Ubuntu users.
1. In the directory where you have downloaded the bin file, right click
it -> properties -> permissions -> click the execute box.
2. Open a terminal: $ sudo ./IBM_Lotus_Symphony_Linux.bin
3. Go into the folder that was generated and open a terminal: sudo
./setup.bin -console.
4. It now installs with console prompts.
5. After installation a Lotus folder is created in the home directory
that has root permissions, open a terminal: sudo chown -R username Lotus.
6. The start icons do not appear in the menu so right click the top
panel (bottom in Mint) -> add to panel -> application launcher -> office
-> Lotus Symphony Documents, Presentations and Spreadsheets. You should
be up and running now.
