I've just built myself a shiny new machine. I've got no use for my old
one so I've decided to flog it off. The RAM has a minor fault so it
cannot be safely used with Windows. Linux can run on it with the help
of the BadRAM patch, which is why I'm offering it here first. Of
course, you can replace the RAM if you like but you'll have to find
some that's compatible. Anyway, for just £25, you'll get...

A Dell Optiplex GX520 desktop case and motherboard with a Pentium 4
2.8GHz CPU (64-bit) and 1GB 400MHz DDR2 RAM (faulty). The motherboard
has an integrated Intel 945G graphics chipset, which is fairly capable
of 3D. It can take one SATA drive and two IDE drives as well a floppy
drive though you wouldn't be able to fit all that in the case at once.
There are two PCI slots but since the case is quite small, they will
only take low profile cards. There's a spare SATA cable inside since I
don't need it. Finally, there's no floppy power connector since I cut
it off and taped a HD/CD power connector on instead but this can easily
be remedied.

For an extra £20, I'll chuck in...

 - A floppy drive with a ribbon cable.
 - A Seagate 80GB IDE hard drive with a non-ribbon IDE cable.
 - Cambridge Soundsworks woofer and three speakers. Unfortunately the
fourth died some time ago in an incident involving a Tarzan-style
collision into a wall. Just play the remaining three extra loud. (-;

This has been my workhorse for the past year and I've used it for all
sorts so it's very capable. A bargain if I may say so! Drop me an
e-mail if you're interested. I live in Perth and don't drive so you'll
have to pick it up.

Cheers,
James
