[dundee] Googlemail

Internet's a big place, next time when someone say the xxx mb's connection, ask
them to where? japan? I don't think so.

netstat -s may hold some interesting options.

as are your dsl modem logs.. remember adsl, what ever people say is no
better than two cups and piece of string, it may be a fast piece of string, but
that's it.

also, google are not immune to failure, or an intermediate system between them
and yourself. Google are however much better at coping with failure, but if you
have to cross 2 or 3 other networks to get them, go knows what your packets are doing?

adsl can also get 'clogged up' if BT's 'AMAZING' atm network gets a bit bogged down,
then it's going to be 'packet loss city', and your the new resident.

if you experience any more problems consider..

of h2o networks... ;-)

Cheers,
Lee

Has anyone else noticed that Googlemail had periods yesterday when it would
not connect to the smtp server? I could send Googlemail messages through
the server of my ISP, and receive from Googlemail's pop server, but for
quite long periods of the day sending just wouldn't happen.

Having just written this message I found that it wouldn't send either!
