<p><span style="font-size: 5.5pt;"><font size="2">I use the MBox2 from DigiDesign along with their Pro tools LE recording software. I'm not sure if there is any Linux support (Win / Mac from what I know) out there for the hardware / software but I highly recommend it from audio recording perspective and so would a lot of the musicians I know. There is however another snag, the MBox2 Factory with ProTools LE stung me about £400 when i bought it a year or so ago. Still I would recommend checking DigiDesign out, v good kit / software and I think there's a new Mini Mbox out now which may be going for a bit cheaper!

I'm lpanning to start recording some of the stuff I play in a band with my laptop however it only has its little headphone/mic sockets and I realised I need some othr I/O interface for putting lines/mic's/guitars through so I can record them.

I've yet to seek any advice from the likes of soundcontrol/rainbow but I don't know if they'd know about linux support anyways. Google is proving rather difficult on this issue(which is un-nerving) and i can't find a definitive list of devices that work reliably.
