thanks for the tips. We're not using any kinda of layer 3<br>encryption, just layer 2, and it stinks.. It's very complex<br>and has taken a lot of reverse engineering to get this far.<br><br>I don't think wireless layer 2 encryption is either scalable<br>or manageable in an enterprise setting. I'd really go for<br>layer 3 encryption instead. Then you can have any dirt<br>cheap access point , rather than expensive layer 2 <br>and esoteric , non standard AP's!! ;-)<br><br>I can't really give you more background information<br>at the moment because I don't actually have any.<br><br>when dealing with network problems , you can break<br>it down to three things.<br><br>1. Hardware Problems (courrput network card etc etc)<br>2. Software Problems (incompatible protocol)<br>3. Policy Problems <br> These are the hardest to overcome, its easy to find the<br> first two points, but if your ISP is blocking every packet on<br>
port 1234 , then it's harder to trouble shoot. <br><br>Having use lots of different networks, for lots of different reasons , it's almost like you can give a network a personality<br>test!!!!
