Software is becoming more and more mainstream.<br>Favoured by technical people for decades (did you know most websites are<br>hosted on Open Source software?) it is now so easy to use that normal<br>people everywhere are discovering its benefits.<br><br>The benefits? This is software you can download legally for free - but<br>best of all, it's free in more ways than that. As in anyone has the<br>legal right to change it, use it and distribute in many ways.<br><br>This takes the position of power away from faceless corporations and<br>returns it to ordinary people. Microsoft, a company which has been<br>convicted of abusing its monopoly position on two continents, can never<br>again dictate to you how you will or won't use your computer.<br><br>You can set it up to require less computing power than Microsoft<br>Windows, and thus you can rescue old computers and put them to use<br>again.
