Hey guys, I'm currently working on a buffer overflow whitepaper for uni, and I'm having some trouble with GDB. I can get it to do what I want, however I've seen GDB configured in such a way that information is presented much easier.

Standard ubuntu/debian derivatives dont present the information in a great way thats easy to read, however using DVL-strychnine (a live disk based on Backtrack for practicing exploits) , data is presented in a great way. would anyone have any idea how to get the GDB on my Virtual ubuntu system, look like the GDB on my strychnine system?

Screenshots of the difference attatched.
