Hi Ian, welcome back.

the meetings are still going over the summer. the next meeting will be tursday the 4th of june and every two weeks after that.
A reminder email is usually sent to list few days before.

details on how to find us are here http://thelinuxsociety.org.uk/about

i have not tried the RH Certs myself. I am studying for the Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
although as they have just been updated in april. the documentation eg books have not been updated yet.

I found the previous workload of LPIC was very antiquated as there has been lots of big changes in many areas in linux.
although i have heard the updated exams are better.

one good thing about the LPIC exams is that they cover both RPM and DEB based distro's

hope to see you at a meeting soon.

Kris Findlay
Hi,

Been in Asia for 6 months so took myself off the list, but back now
and would be nice to go to any meetings - any on the horizon, or has
everything stopped for the summer?

Btw, has anyone ever tried the Red Hat certifications? I'm thinking
of doing one, but I've heard they're hard!

Regards,
Iain
