I thought CDE was an excellent tool devised by Stanford University. This is where automatic packaging (from the command line) of code,data &amp; environment could be used on a Linux machine and then transferred to another Linux machine where the production of experimental computations and results could be reproduced. This would be excellent in collaboration projects whereby experimental results and tests can be reproduced and verified on different machines by different people.<br>
