Gordon, thanks for replying....it's very quiet otherwise.

What date is the meeting?

The meeting is on Thursday, 2nd December 2010.

Also, I thought it (and the last meeting) was the Linux Society AGM, or is it
TayLug's as well? or am I getting confused again? The notes talk about TayLug
as a separate entity needing support which implies that TLS <> TayLug

This a re-run or extended meeting of the Abertay Linux Society's AGM as there was a lot mentioned that Arron wanted to have discussed and made known to the list. He posted an agenda of the AGM.
Note - I'm NOT stirring here, nor trying to wind you (nor anyone else) up nor
criticise in any way: I'm just trying to determine what we would be expected
to contribute or if we are just there as observers, or if some decisions about
TayLug are going to be made at the same meeting...etc., etc.

I am a member of the Abertay Linux Society, so are you, as well as being a member of TayLUG. This AGM is about the business of the Linux Society which hosts the meetings at Abertay. most Linux Society members are also TayLUG members. TayLUG does not have an AGM as we do not hold meetings or have any financial dealings, we are just a mailing list.
In short the TayLUG is a mailing list that operates in an open and transparent manner in accordance to FOSS principles. The Linux Society is where meetings on FOSS/Linux are held and operates under the University of Abertay rules hence an AGM. I was just wondering if you were going to be there so I could have a chat with you about TayLUG. The Met Office has forecast significant snowfall for Tayside this weekend and for the prevailing snow and icy conditions to last for a week so there is a strong possibility that the meeting may be cancelled. Anyway, for a teuchter living in Newtyle there is no chance you will make it unless you can borrow Santa's magic sleigh :-)
I hope this clears the confusion.

Gordon
