The U.S. Department of Justice, which worked in concert with the Germany’s Federal Cartel Office (Das Bundeskartellamt), has announced its findings about the acquisition of Novell patents by  the CPTN Holdings Group. It basically means that Microsoft can get Novell&#39;s patent rights but must share them with open source software e.g. get a license to use those patents under the GPL 2 and Open Invention Network (OIN ) licenses where appropriate.<br>
