I got a phone call in February 2010 from the University of Abertay, they were on a fund raising drive trying to get Alumni to contribute back to the University. I was told that they wanted Alumni to help the University and students after they graduate and to take an active interest in University activities. I said that I continue to donate time, money & interest through the Abertay Linux Society and went on to explain how the Abertay Linux Society worked where students, alumni & general members of the public came together at meetings etc. So the University authorities wants us to maintain an active interest and now the Student's Association doesn't.<br>

<div><br></div><div>- In response to the Student Association's logic I have put forward the proposal that our grant by the Student Association will only be spent on tangible assets that remain property of the Student Association. (any equipment purchased with society funds remains the Associations property anyway).</div>
<div><br></div><div>- We will contact the computing school of the university as a LUG looking for a venue with the support of a few lecturers. This will be set in motion very shortly. </div><div><br></div><div>In the mean time if anyone is willing to help me find a venue outside the university it would be greatly appreciated. I can't contact them all on my own and battle the Student Association. </div>
