[Durham] Slightly OT: temperamental power adaptor

Ah, OK, fair enough. Pity.

Are universal psus generally reliable? I ask as my brother had an
unofficial psu a few years ago, and whenever it was plugged into his
laptop it made an awful high-pitched squeal, and his laptop now does
that any time it's plugged into any adapter. Which sucks. And we
have the same model of laptop (Asus EEE 901), so I'm a little scared
of the same thing happening to mine.
