          I'm not really sure what to look for here. In Debian running
          LO 4.2.5.2 on a netbook I get a single slab of text when I
          open the document. I assumed the information about columns,
          fonts and page size would be stored as part of the document.
          Here's what I see:<br>

    That is exactly what I intended you to see.<br>

    Now highlight the slab of text and change the font to Freesans. Save
    the new version of the document and then open it in both Libreoffice
    3 and Libreoffice 4. You will see that the document appears
    differently in the two versions of Libreoffice when it should appear
    exactly the same.<br>
