We were already planning on leaving for Spain - Karin was a Dane and had got very frightened because we know of so many people being assaulted just because they were foreign. I'm making no decisions before Christmas at the earliest. I may leave it longer. Her death was wildly unexpected and she'd been fine just a few hours before. An artery in her brain burst. She had no blood pressure problems; this was due to a congenital weakness. Her oldest brother died of exactly the same problem in 1989.<br><br></div>It's a massive shock! That someone you love so much can go from vital, happy cheerful to dead in just such a short time. At least I did everything exactly right and she was in hospital in less than 30 minutes of being taken ill. Largely off topic. I may be at the next meeting. My wife
died very suddenly of a sub-arachnoid haemorrhage last
week. We were just about to go to Spain for 3 weeks to find
a house for long-term rent so we could concentrate on the
language and check with other Estate Agents locally. I've
had to cancel all this and to put things on hold for Spain.<br>

I now have to find a way forward for myself, without Karin,
and frankly without actually much idea even of a starting
point either. Maybe talking to the guys might give me ideas
for interesting ways my life might go in the future.<br>
<br>
I'm still going to move to Spain I think. They are so much
more laid back about foreigners. When that foreigner is
prepared to try to learn the language and fit in with
Spanish people and Spanish culture, they are unbelievably
kind.<br>
