hi all

just to add my bit - thanks to steve for getting the thing together. It =
was an entertaining and enlightening evening all round i think. Being a =
novice to the Linux world (1 month & counting), it's good that there =
seems to be so much potential to the system(s) - i'm interested how the =
graphical functions of Linux can compete with the professional design =
world, (i.e. photoshop, video editing, etc) and would consider looking =
into comparing Linux freeware (Gimp) with the more industry based =
Windows / Mac applications in a few sessions time if anyone interested.

Not being a programmer or versed in textual commands, i'm interested by =
the graphical aspects and choice of Linux workspace - the choice seems =
to offer=20
user friendly spaces for a variety of users - kids/ first time users/ =
people who are sensory impaired or have learning difficulties/ to =
programmers etc. Which is much better than the constraints of Windows.=20

Also interested in finding out more about mySQL / Apache /PHP and =
getting a basic idea of how it interfaces with a web page.

anyway great to meet all, keep your kernels keen
Duncan Hopkins
