[Gllug] CD copying

I haven't looked into this yet, so may be mis understanding.
I assumed that the cd drive itself had some crc checking or
something, and it was the hardware device itself that was
reporting something like an unreadable word due to "error
on disk" - similar to a lump of dirt.
If however it is just in the filesystem interpretation of the bits
then yes "dd" should ignore this completely
