[Gllug] Laser printer, false economy

I have seen an HPLazerjet 4 Plus for 85 Pounds Sterling at a computer fair.
Is this equivalent to Ford Escort or a big Volvo, each  with say 100,000
miles on the clock?
Would a brand new personal or home laser printer be a better buy than an old
office escapee?
