I had exactly the same issue using ext2 before - it is always the first nfs 
entry in fstab, and only on the one client machine. I'm using a late 2.2 
kernel but I can't tell you the version of reiserfs or nfs (except that it's 
the kernel nfs not the user-space nfs)
