Oh, absolutely it does.  However, it's not my idea to do things this way -
I would much prefer a good tape library using DLT tapes and running Amanda
across the network.  Okay, the initial outlay for the library and tapes is
expensive, but in the long term it makes much more sense.  However, I am
just a lowly system administrator.  I've got to do things on what little
resources I've got :(

The only advantage for us for using this IDE mirror system is that we can
at least restore data for customers very quickly.
