[Gllug] Linuxconf behaviour on RH 7.3

Linuxconf is behaving very oddly on my RH 7.3 box.

Network client parameters appear delimited by single quote marks when 
linuxconf is fired up - but these are then reported as bad values when 
linuxconf is closed.

Removing the quote marks may allow me to close linuxconf, but it also seems to 
trash my hosts.conf (eg X won't run because it won't recognise the IP address 
of the box).

All very odd. Anyone know what this is about?
