[Gllug] debian woody installation problem

I just installed Woody over the weekend and ran into some X problems as 
well.  The log files mean little to me (being a newbie), perhaps you 
should post your XF86Config-4 file.  My problems related to erroneous 
labeling of my graphics card "Device" and a reference to a different 
device. Check the entries and make sure that they all match correctly. 
 Try "startx" before fiddling with gdm and kdm, this helped me to rule 
things out as I isolated each step in the whole process.
