I'm going to sound either a) an elitist wanker or b) a sad, sad human
being here... I don't recon myself any of those though ;)

 i) `package-framework' for building programs -- it is not very mature,
but it is _so_ much nicer to use than autoconf/automake/libtool.

      http://regexps.srparish.net/src/package-framework/

ii) `glut' (opengl utility toolkit) for simple graphical stuffs.

iii) `mailstat' -- i now don't have to count my spam manually to
nag about how much of it I get ;)

iv) re-discovered how good tex4ht (htlatex) is transforming latex
documents into html (latex2html is _shite_) and that links has a
-dump flag too, which does justice to tables etc.

Small children, small pleasures ;)
