Hey guys, tommorrow we launch the 'yellow ribbon appeal'. Last night I took
a photo with Simon Weston posing next to the giant white bear I donated, one
that had been promised to my grandson, why? Because Bluey, as the bear is
called is a catylist, he is what children can see in this war, soft warm and
enduring, and what the adults can see as larger than life characters that are
hero's. I need to find a sponsor or sponsors to purchase the ribbons which
will be sold as and in addition to the ones received in the newspaper, The
charity to benefit will SSAFA.

SSAFA, helps ex and serving forces like me, and those who are dependants of,
they do this in many ways, saving many lives by compassion, funding and care,
see www.ssafa.org.uk. Being ex RAF and having family serving the shared
dread is the same, and we feel left behind, those not walking beside our
fellows who trained and heard the same tunes on the parade ground.

So please consider that the lapel ribbons which are signs to those out there
in the desert heat, in the skies and on and underwater that we all at home
are with them, as it is simply the message 'support our troops'.

Now I know that Linux has a massive membership, and in going to the open
source conference, known of the open communication advocated by Richard
Stallman, and yes I changed the way I thought about it and agree whole
heartedly with open access to all freely.

If any of you have contacts and wish to make this happen.please email or
contact me as I have gone to the television companies and shall be talking
radio stations. If there are any forces persons that want to join me on
this initiative with Bluey who is to travel and be on display, please get in
touch.

Thank you

Contact SSAFA website or ring or send email and I will arrange contact
details and costings for pins to be ordered. I am sure that a signed photo of
Bluey with some celebrities will fetch money in for the charity. I will ask
Simon will he go further and do this, but first SSAFA need thousands of these
ribbons that in unit cost are cheaper. Many volunteers will sell them that
are known to SSAFA, when this is done, locally my person to contact is Toni
Parrini, who knows me as RAF PR as RAFA,
