Admittedly, I've not tried this myself, as I don;t have to contend with
MS Proxy servers, but I don't think any kind of source patching should
be necessary. NTLM support was added with Mozilla 1.4, and is mentioned
as a new feature in the release notes for that version:-

This mentions that PSM must be installed for NTLM to work.

Also, if all else fails there is a proxy for NTML you can install at
http://www.geocities.com/rozmanov/ntlm/, which should allow any browser
to work with it.

It's worth bearing in mind that IE uses bith NTLM and WPAD (proxy
auto-discovery), so it's possible that IE may "just work" whereas you
might need to explicitly tell Mozilla the ip address of your proxy.
