[Gllug] Broken Mac install

I have messed up installing Linux (YDL Daytona) on a Power Mac G3 (beige) I 
bought second-hand some time ago - I didn't realise that I had to keep a Mac 
OS partition on the box to get it to boot.

I have been advised that I can use various boot disk solutions to boot the 
machine (it won't boot at all at the moment) and then copy over a minimalist 
Mac OS 8 setup to get it to work.

But I wonder if there is anybody here who has any experience with this and you 
might like to comment.
