Trying to change the meaning of terms in the English language from a
minority position of approximately one is unlikely to work.

(IIRC, it's worked exactly once, for Samuel Webster, and he only did
it by producing an extremely successful dictionary with many of his
neologisms in it... and even there, it only worked for some of them,
and only where his dictionary was popular, i.e., in the US.)
