[Gllug] Converting Mac "DV" files

Hi,

This is probably an easy one, but:

I keep having to deal with the output of OS X's video editing
program. At the moment, in order to get this into a generally acceptable
format, I do the following:

1. Output from iMovie in "DV" format
2. Convert to AVI type 2:
   raw2dv -f avi2dml < foo.dv foo.avi2dml
3. Merge the output files back into one AVI file
   avimerge -i foo.avi2dml*.avi -o foo.avi2dml
3. Encode the resulting mess
mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=msmpeg4:acodec=mp3 \
   foo.avi2dml -o foo.avi

This gives me something that DiVX players are happy with, which is my
main goal.

Anyone have a better route? (or better options for this one?)

cheers, Rich.
