[Gllug] Raid things

Found my problem.

I'm having trouble typing because of smashing my head repeatedly against
the keyboard:
$ sudo fdisk /dev/hdf

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 19929.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
   (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/hdf: 163.9 GB, 163928604672 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19929 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdf1               1          37      297171   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hdf2              38       19929   159782490   83  Linux

Command (m for help): t
Partition number (1-4): 2
Hex code (type L to list codes): fd
Changed system type of partition 2 to fd (Linux raid autodetect)

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/hdf: 163.9 GB, 163928604672 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19929 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdf1               1          37      297171   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hdf2              38       19929   159782490   fd  Linux raid autodetect

Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered!

Yes: the partition wasn't set to auto-detect.

If I was me, I'd fire me :->

cheers, Rich.
