No, I'm not - it *is* pedantic.  And it *was* a casual way of saying "Can
anyone advise me?" - I know it was, because I asked it casually with
that intention.

Look - if you take a literal reading of the words I used, you're
obviously right.  I do understand - I'm not stupid, uneducated or even
obtuse.  However, the literal reading isn't the right one.

I do enjoy the conversations on this list, and have been enjoying and
participating for over two years on it, so I know how nice people are on
the list.  I don't see quite why people have to get their knickers in a
twist about - sorry - rather trivial things.
