[Gllug] Backing up to DVD

Hi,

Can someone help me.  I want to make a back up of my data on a DVD+R.
I had asumed this is as simple as backing up to cd but this is not so.  I
createda mkisofs tihe -J -r and -udf.  burnt the resultanty ISO, but the OC,
in this case centros would not recognise the format insisting that  there 
was no
media in the drive when there was.  I have searched google but all that it 
comes
up with is about ripping DVD, which is fair enough but not what I am trying 
to
acheive here.
