[Gllug] Cisco VPN Client

Hello,

What options are there for Cisco VPN clients? At present I am using
the Cisco VPN Client (4.0.3) under a windows virtual machine.

The Cisco site claims to have a Linux version:

http://tinyurl.com/2ffgg6

But it won't allow a download without registration. I registered, but
it appears Cisco have some sort of tiered registration, and I still
can't download it.

Does anyone have a package or tarball of it?

What are the alternatives?

I have looked at vpnc, but can't seem to match up the config options
with the settings I use on the windows client - specifically to what
the IPSec ID and secret correspond. I have a username and password,
which vpnc also asks for. Are they the same? I'm familiar with the
concept of shared secrets, but in previous VPNs I've used there's a
shared secret that sets up the tunnel, and then an additional
username/password to authenticate.

Thanks,

S.
