This is why, for certain bits and pieces, you can never trust packages
built by other people. DNS is something you can't afford to get wrong.
resolv.conf and nsswitch.conf are (still) critical if you want a happy
machine on a network. It's well worth investing the time to know what
they do and how to fix, rather than relying on other packages to get it
right.
