   The lens can collect sticky dust, but can be cleaned using isopropyl 
alcohol, followed by a soft cloth wipe, assuming you can reach it. Try not to 
get the alcohol anywhere else. It is sometimes possible to unscrew the metal 
covers without disturbing any adjustments.
