No, they don't. In fact it can be seen as a reasonable first step on
their part to deal with an abusive registration without recourse to the
registry processes for recovering a domain which can be expensive.

Also this doesn't ever go to the courts unless someone is willing to
take the registry to court for their actions. Nominet publish some
details of their dispute resolution process and the outcomes of cases.
Reading them it really does show that getting this wrong from the domain
registrant perspective can be a disaster.
