Actually proprietary and web based is even worse - thanks for the
suggestion though! At the bare minimum I need something that either runs
locally of has a very flexible API and some decent options for exporting
and backing up my data. None of the web options I looked at could tick
all my boxes hence several weeks of coding (oh well ;)
