They are paying SuSE or someone else a shed load of money - not in
license fees but in support and consultancy contracts. 

Similarly they will be paying others for support and consultancy.

The amount they spend will probably not be very different. It's just a
matter of that spending happening closer to home and so promoting
economic growth here rather than there.
