Of course I've been running Fedora 16 on my laptop for a few months,
and it works fine.

The big issue is that I've switched entirely to XFCE, so the desktop
is familiar, since XFCE is mostly like GNOME 2 (better in a few ways).

  - sudo yum install @XFCE
  - log out
  - select XFCE Session from the drop down box
  - log in
