Thanks, I don't think it's over-heating.

Whilst Googling I kept coming across this statement:

" The e1000 driver is changed to a kernel only support model."

What does that mean?

The e1000 driver has been around for a pretty long time, I'm really surprised it has problems. 

Any idea why it insists on starting up in half-duplex and do I need to set a kernel command line option to fix it?
