is eczema?</font></span><br>

one in eight babies show some signs of eczema before they're six months
old. Some grow out of it quickly, but many progress to the more severe
form, called atopic eczema. This is inherited, though everyone in the
family won't be affected to the same extent, if at all. If
you think your
child has eczema, ask your pharmacist or family doctor for

first signs</b><br>
With eczema, the first thing you'll notice is your child
scratching. Soon
what was just a small patch of dry skin becomes sore,

Eczema in babies is most common on the face and neck. In older children
it's found mainly inside elbows, behind knees, on wrists and on ankles.

Children with eczema don't usually have allergic reactions to food. If
you think your child is allergic to a particular food, ask your GP or
Health Visitor for advice. Incidentally, breast-fed babies seem to be

that scratching</b><br>
To prevent young babies hurting themselves, put cotton mittens on their
hands during the day as well as at night. With older children, you can
try to explain that scratching only makes the itching worse.
Keep fingernails
