<p>Yes, and they have had NO effect on terrorism.  Fake ID cards are widely on sale in the US - it's the way underage kids buy their booze - and so are useless.</p>

<p>Bliar's proposal for "ID Cards" is for the most complex "biometric" cards possible.  This "government" has absolutely no idea about <span style="font-style:italic">anything</span> technological, and will accept any snake oil offered, particularly if it's offered by one of their "preferred bidders".  </p>

<p>Every major project undertaken by this "government" has utterly failed - <span style="font-style:italic">without exception.  </span>Most of their schemes are "make work" - that's why there are more "managers" in the NHS than there are Doctors and Nurses.  </p>

<p>I'm getting thoroughly disillusioned - the bombings last week have added to my gloom - and if this country doesn't come to its' collective senses in the next short while, I'll be looking for somewhere quieter to live!</p>
