I'm wondering if anyone can advice on a method of synchronising
bookmarks of a Windows instance and a Linux instance of Firefox over a
network, so that any additions/modifications to either bookmarks are
eventually merged. I suppose an alternative is a single
'bookmarks.html' file is used and accessed oveer the network. Can
anyone suggest how I could configure Firefox to use a file on a
network as a bookmarks file? Alternatively, could I mount a network
directory from my Windows computer and create a link to it. In fact,
could I even mount my whole Firefox profile directory on my Windows
computer to the location of my Firefox profile on my Linux machine (if
that makes sense). Although, this would mean if one of my machines is
down I loose settings. I am reasonably knowledgeable about Linux,
however most of it is theory rather than experience, as I have studied
Unix and Linux at uni but I've only recently used it myself. So, as
such, I need advice on how to put my theory in to practice, so to
speak.

BTW, I like to use both of machines to browse the web because
primarily I use my Windows machine for most things, however I like to
use my Linux machine for web browsing while playing games; I'm a big
Counter-Strike Source player and I've got to pass the time between
rounds somehow. This is why I want to sycronise my settings over
platforms.

Thanks
--
Gllug mailing list -

There is a firefox extension available that I've used.
there seam to be quite a lot of bookmark extensions so it might be worth looking at any that fill your purpose.
